CTSI has Immediate Positions Available for Sales & Technicians

LOW VOLTAGE TECHNICIANS

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS:  Full-time Low Voltage Technicians.  Stable and dynamic company in Chantilly, VA offering competitive benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k).

General Description:

  • Performs service and inspection activities on low voltage systems systems.  Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics.
  • Performs all tasks required to completely install low voltage systems to meet customer specifications.

    Engineering – technical review
    Cable installation
    Device mounting
    Wiring devices and control panels point to point
    Programming, testing and troubleshooting system head end equipment on large-scale systems

  • Performs a variety of manual labor tasks involved in physical installation using hand and power tools.  Review prints and riser diagrams to verify mounting locations and cable routes.  Program system control panels and video control devices through head end PC’s in accordance to pre-scheduled operations designs.  Test all components of system using local or remote PC connections and various electronics test equipment.  Perform basic troubleshooting procedures when system errors appear during testing phase.
  • Tasks include continual learning of new products, upgrades, and software programs related to security systems.  Job requires occasional overtime and continual driving to different job sites.  Installers are required to work on different jobs simultaneously requiring adequate records of tasks and frequent communications to update installation manager.
  • Evaluates and diagnoses equipment requiring service, and identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Provides specific solutions and recommendations to customers on most efficient and cost efficient methods to return equipment to working order.
  • Abides by CTSI and OSHA regulations and use Personal Protective equipment as required by the work environment.
  • Represents CTSI in a professional manner at all times.
     

Physical Requirements:  Requires the ability to lift 50-60 lbs., climb, crawl, and raise things overhead.
 
Work experience requirements:

  • Experience in testing, maintenance, and service of low voltage systems.
  • Industry experience as apprentice electrician or low voltage technician as a minimum.  Has performed installations of low voltage systems.  Possesses current working knowledge of basic software applications, communication technologies, and some lock hardware applications.  Should have some leadership experience needed to instruct installation assistants to perform basic tasks proficiently.  Has past experience in dealing with customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Education Requirements

  • Minimum:  High school graduate.  Must be able to read and write at Basic English proficiency.  Must be able to compute basic math functions without difficulty.  Can read CAD generated prints and building blueprints and riser diagrams.  Has solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory – formal instruction is preferred.  Is proficient with PC and has proven aptitude in simple engineering and construction.

Experience:  At least 4 Years
